Description
I love learning about and trying new art styles. OOF is an art style that I'm just learning about -- it stands for "Out Of Frame," where one or more elements of a photo or painted piece cross the frame into an outer area, giving the entire piece a 3D effect.
For this particular piece, I began with an older artwork of mine, "Eese Flying South," and decided that I should show where those Es are flying to, and what happens when they get there. My imaginary creatures leave their winter home in the north, leaving behind most of their warm black feathers at the same time, and fly to a green tinsel forest in the south where the males grow long colorful feathers with which to woo the little brown females. Together they care for their young, who must shed their fluffy brown feathers in favor of sleek black ones before traveling north.
This artwork is a combination of acrylic painting, photographs, and digital effects.
