Description
Remember the song "Sixteen Miles On the Erie Canal"? One of the lines was "Low bridge, everybody down." I don't know if this footbridge was there when people were still using the canal for transporting goods between Albany and Buffalo, New York; these days it connects the towpath on either side where people walk, jog, and bike, in the Manlius area, which is just east of Syracuse, NY.
I took this photo in the autumn of 2007, and the water level in the canal looks low, but I haven't been able to find out yet if that year Syracuse had less precipitation than usual.
