Description
What in the world is a twinchie, you ask? Well, it's four times the size of an inchie, to begin with! LOL A twinchie is a 2-square-inch piece of art that some artists like to make and trade with other artists, and use to decorate scrapbook pages, bookmarks, or just keep in photo albums. An inchie, as you may have guessed by now, is a 1-square inch piece of art. And believe me, it's not easy to make a beautiful piece of art that's only one or two inches square!
A while back I joined a Facebook group of artists who made and swapped inchies, twinchies, and rinchies (round inchies). I was very enthusiastic about this new challenge: I found a box and began gathering up supplies: old cereal boxes cut into squares for the substrate; ribbons, colored paper, and all sorts of found objects for decorations; scissors, paint brushes, and glue to put everything together. And that box of supplies looked really cool, so I got out my camera and took some pictures. Then I uploaded them to my computer and began making kaleidoscopes... oh wait -- I was supposed to actually be making inchies and twinchies, wasn't I?
I did eventually make a few of those tiny pieces of art and swapped them with my friends on Facebook, but to be honest, I really preferred taking photos and making kaleidoscopes. So I've still got that box of supplies around here somewhere, and one of these days I'll probably get back to it. Maybe. If for no other reason than to take more pictures! (wink)
