Description
My husband and I run errands together sometimes in his 2007 Mazda CX7 SUV. One day, sitting in the passenger seat, the interesting shape of the gear shift opening caught my attention. I remembered a line from an old TV show, where a not-too-smart girl was learning to drive, and she referred to the gear stick as the PRNDL, and with the overall concept for Road Trip Garden always in the back of my head, PRNDL Posies took shape.
With all my photo collages, I start with a digital image -- a photo that I personally have taken, to avoid copyright issues. I alter it to suit, usually just changing the color while keeping the shape clear enough to be recognized, at least if you look closely. Then I print out multiple copies, cut out each piece individually with a pair of scissors, and glue them together. This makes my images a mixture of digital work and old-fashioned collage.
