So I have this one flower that ended up being way bigger than the others. Easy conclusion: It's not a flower; it's a tree. I'm the artist, I'm allowed to make decisions like this. (Insert Bob Ross murmuring, "It's your world... happy accidents... happy little trees..." Oops, sorry, Bob, I forgot to give him a friend. But he's got lots of flowers to keep him company!)
Here's where it all began: During a long, boring road trip, I started looking at the tail lights of the cars around us, and imagining what else they could be. The more I looked at them, the more they looked like flower petals. Since then I've become sort of obsessed with photographing taillights, headlights, brake lights, hubcaps, door handles, and anything else on cars that might possibly be turned into flowers. They're being made into a series of pictures made with digital photo manipulation and good old-fashioned, scissors-and-glue photo collage. Collect them all!

An excellent image. Very creative work, too. Headlights, tail lights, car parts are all very interesting. One Cadillac in the 60s had tailfins and lights that looked like an alien. Great comments on fruitcakes. I have been wondering how fruitcake slices might be arranged for photographs? Of course, you know the joke about there only being a few fruitcakes in the world beause everyone keeps passing them around.
Lori Kingston replied:
Thanks for your compliment, Bob! I appreciate it! :) And yes, I've heard that joke about the fruitcake being passed around, but trust me, back when I could eat them, I never passed one along -- it was MINE!! LOL
