Description
I called this piece “Creation” because the first thing I thought of as I looked at it was the separation of light and darkness that is talked about in the first chapter of Genesis, as God was creating the universe.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:1-5 (KJV)
I am fascinated by acrylic pouring. I watch a lot of videos of people making paintings and having amazing cells pop up, and I confess to a bad case of sour grapes when I make a painting and don’t get cells – “Well, you know, it’s not like cells are all that important!” And then I got some. They’re not the biggest or most beautiful I’ve ever seen, but I actually got some, and while I still don’t think cells are the be-all and end-all of acrylic pours, I certainly like getting them. :)
